This darling Tiki Hut table and chairs will be auctioned off early next month for a charity event hosted by the Mavericks Foundation. Various businesses volunteer to take part in the event. Everyone receives a stock table and two chairs. This year's table and chairs came from Ikea.
We started with a unfinished table and chairs. Since a lot of us LOVE the beach, we decided on the tiki hut idea you see left! The team was GREAT and really did a wonderful and creative job of this project!
So, now that it is done it goes up for auction. Cross your fingers that we do well for the kids!

Here's what we wrote to "market" it:
From sketching fabulous discoveries on the chalkboard tabletop to jamming island-style on the tropical instruments, your Robinson Crusoe will find hours of fun with this interactive Tiki Table.
The top of the table and the Tiki masks on the backs of the chairs were coated with chalkboard paint to allow for repeated decoration and re-decoration of the set.
The hammock on the back provides a convenient storage space for all the required Luau accessories. Included in the hammock to get you started: Toy monkeys, drums, a ukulele and chalk.
Epilogue:
So we went to the event last night and ALAS we didn't win an awards. But the entries that did were fantastic! Hell, the entries that didn't win were amazing. The teams really put their hearts and souls into the tasks and the creativity was amazing! Check out the site to see other entries.
We did earn in the top 3 for bids, though. YAY!!!
